An Early Food Allergy Advocate
I am honored to share a video that I produced of a wonderful woman named Jacqueline Frost. She is 91 years old. She was diagnosed with a corn allergy in the 1970’s before corn was even recognized as an allergen. She was one of the first patients of Dr. Theron Randolph, a pioneer in food allergy research who was first to report about corn allergy.
Jaqueline made it her mission to expose the presence of corn in a prescription medication that made her ill. She spent years researching the issue, working with Dr. Randolph, and representing herself in court -often with handwritten briefs - all the way to the US Supreme Court. Her cases contain documentation of corn allergies and her research. She has worked with the FDA, Congress, drug manufacturers and even formed her own company to support her research.
At 91, she is still advocating for the recognition of corn allergy. She hopes to testify in Congress about legislation that would make allergen labeling in prescription medications mandatory. I am proud to help her with her work. Enjoy the video and meeting this amazing woman…
